Dear Visitor,
Welcome to the Cochran Fellowship Program (CFP) website in Peru. We invite you to become acquainted with one of our most important capacity building efforts in Peru. If you are a former Cochran Fellow, we hope that this website facilitates dialogue and networking between yourself and other Fellows. If you have come to learn more about the Cochran Fellowship Program, we hope that the information is helpful and that if you meet our eligibility criteria you will decide to apply.
The CFP is administered worldwide by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). Between 2001 and 2006, our FAS office in Peru has sent 96 Cochran fellows to the U.S. for training. For 2007, we expect to sponsor up to 25 Peruvian participants.
The CFP provides U.S.-based agricultural training opportunities for senior and mid-level specialists and administrators from both the public and private sectors who are concerned with agricultural trade, agribusiness development, management, policy, and marketing. The program offers short-term training opportunities, most ranging from two to four weeks. Participants have the opportunity to meet with professionals in their fields, participate in field observations and industry visits, experience on-the-job training, and attend university courses and seminars.
Please take a moment to read what Past Participants have to tell you about their experiences as well as their Success Stories. If you are a qualified candidate for the Cochran Fellowship Program, please contact us at Aglima@usda.gov.
Sincerely,
Eugene Philhower
Regional Agricultural Counselor
